Thank you for your interest in the preschool program at Calvary Baptist Church. Our

preschool program is an outreach ministry of the church, serving children from both the

church and community. We strive to be an extension of your family, giving the children

the loving care and guidance that they need in their formative years.

Our preschool is dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child: spiritually,

emotionally, socially, physically, and mentally. Teachers plan daily individual and group

activities to facilitate this goal, which include both organized and free choice experiences.

Building a positive self-esteem and refining socialization skills are an important part of

our overall program.

The staff strives to provide a relaxed learning atmosphere. Our philosophy is geared

toward helping each child grow into a responsible, mature Christian adult. In our program

we expose children to different learning situations. In the course of a day, the children

may experience the following activities: arts and crafts, praise and worship/hymns and

songs, finger plays, show and tell, science, phonics, alphabet, visual and sequential

concepts, puzzles, manipulatives, play dough, blocks, housekeeping corner, musical

instruments, nursery rhymes, manners, and the reading of books. Gross motor skills are

enhanced by utilizing the children’s playground area.
