The Dan River Project was funded by a grant from the Virginia Environmental Endowment. The students in the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades at Meadows of Dan School, their teachers - Mrs. Cyndi Williams, Mrs. Linda Dalton, Mr. Doug Phillips, and the principal - Miss Sandy Montgomery have conducted the study.
Volunteers include: Dr. Ralph Lutts, Bill Moss, Carol Byrd, Nancy Largen, Stokes Co. School System, Halifax Co. School System, Liz Wallis, and Buck Dalton.
Dr. Ralph Lutts has acted as consultant, expert on the Dan River- without whose help and guidance the project could not have been possible.
Special thanks to Mrs. Judy Lacks and the Patrick County School Board for their help and support.
