Information:
Nationally, the American Red
Cross responds to over 83,000 disasters each year. From
earthquakes and floods, to victims of war, the Red Cross
provides emergency food, shelter and resources on a humanitarian
level.
TRAINING FOR VOLUNTEERS
who would like to become local or national disaster relief
workers is available. Much of the training can be accessed
on-line and through powerpoint presentations. Contact
the Greater New River Valley Chapter for details or go
to www.redcross.org
DISASTER
ACTION TEAMS
are forming in all areas: City of Radford,
Bland County, Pulaski County, Giles County, Floyd County
and Montgomery County. If you have an interest in helping
your community - please contact us for training.
