Heatilators Caliber CD/CB 4236 & 4842

A Better View of a Beautiful Fire!

Larger viewing area has been created with true widths of 36" & 42" by eliminating the lower black silk screen edging and increasing the viewing height by 3"!

Modified flame appearance with a string middle and two outer flames accenting a larger back flame with glow and full front ember bed.

Burner fully enclosed by the log set and elevated with a slopped hearth pan for the raised grate look of a traditional fireplace.

Impressive new log set with precise bark detailing and new color scheme recreates the realism of perfectly aged wood collected from the woodpile.

Top or rear direct vent allows installation along interior or exterior walls, below grade, or in corners.

Choice of standing pilot or Intellifire ignition system and direct venting or B venting.

"Quick Access Glass" keeps routine maintenance simple yet maintains a tight sealed combustion chamber; direct vent models use only outside air for combustion.

More designer front choices- Top and bottom louvers are standard, however, a choice of optional fronts such as the Modernist, Arts & Crafts and the new Jamestown (featuring operable mesh doors) offer additional design opportunities.

Steel refractory interior lining is standard with a new weathered ceramic fiber refractory lining available as an optional upgrade.

Heater listed to ANSI Z21.88 standards.

Tested and listed to UL Safety Standards; Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Intellifire Ignition System

With Intellifire, there's no need for a constantly burning pilot, saving the homeowner an average of $7 per month. When the fireplace is turned on, the pilot lights first then ignites the main burner. When the fireplace is not operating, the pilot also shuts down.

The Intellifire system installation choices include hardwiring, hardwiring with a battery backup, or operating with two size D batteries (not included).

Certifications/General Considerations

Direct vent appliance are certified for installation in bedrooms, bed/sitting rooms and mobile homes. When installing a fireplace in a basement application or an area susceptible to negative air pressure, we strongly encourage you to use a direct vent gas fireplace.

The rough framing dimensions shown represent the distance from stud to stud only and do not take into consideration the addition of sheetrock/drywall. Consult local building codes for local installation and operational guidelines.

For best results, do not construct the framing until the unit is in place.

Wiring for fan kit or optional remote control (120V) must be done prior to finishing the installation.

A hearth extension is not required.

Venting

Direct Vent Models: Use of Heatilator Cinch Pipe Series venting and accessories is required.

B Vent Models: Requires 5" B vent chimney system components.

Consult installation instructions manual and B vent manufacturer's instruction manual for complete venting specifications.

Finishing Materials

When finishing the Caliber, combustible material may be brought up to the sides of the fireplace but must never overlap the black area. The black metal may covered with noncombustible material (marble, tile, stone, etc.) only.
